Barça on the attack: They will do everything possible to sign Neymar

Now that Real Madrid have appeared on the scene, Barça know they must move fast or risk losing out on the Brazilian star

The transfer saga of the summer involving Neymar Junior isn't over yet. Although Real Madrid have begun plans to prepare for the Brazilian's presentation at the club next summer, FC Barcelona are ready to launch a final offensive to convince both PSG and Neymar that they are serious about doing a deal.

There's no ultimatum

Sources close to Barça have denied reports that PSG have the club an ultimatum in regards to agreeing a fee. However, that offer will come this weekend and the plan is to finalise matters on Monday. The plan is to match more or less what Real Madrid have offered: money upfront and players in part-exchange to reduce the overall cost.

There's no rush. Barça want to take these days to design the structure of the deal. It's important to keep control of the finances and not go beyond their means. Barça must make sure their wage bill doesn't cause any further problems.

Two players

Due to those restrictions, it appears clear that Barça will need to include at least two players - and convince both to leave the Camp Nou for Paris. That won't be easy. With Philippe Coutinho already at Bayern, it doesn't leave many options on the table. Ivan Rakitic is certain to be one of those. The value of those two players needs to be around €100m.

PSG want as much money upfront and with as few instalments as possible. Once again, this is where Neymar's role is so important. If he sees that Barça are making a serious effort to sign him, he could ask PSG to reach a compromise with them.

On Monday, PSG will have a new offer to consider from Barça HQ. Josep Maria Bartomeu wants Neymar back at the Camp Nou but will ask the player to make sure he pushes for the move too.
