Barça now know Alba's intentions after Inter Milan links surfaced

The left-back is adamant that he wants to remain at Camp Nou for many more years

Jordi Alba is totally focused on Euro 2020 with Spain and wants no distractions. The reports of interest from Inter Milan have not sat well with the Barcelona left-back, who's always made it clear he wants to fulfil his contract at Camp Nou, which runs until 2024.

He's been annoyed that in the middle of such a big tournament, after all he's had to do to win his place back in the Spain squad, speculation about his future has appeared in the press.

It's news because Barça now know first-hand the player's intentions. The communication with the club has been clear. Alba has no intention of moving this summer, even if he's not always been appreciated on the inside. Proof of that is that he's just bought a new house.

Alba recently became a father again, his kids are young and he prioritises the wellbeing of his family. He does not want to listen to offers from Inter or anyone else. He has a contract for three more years and is only thinking about that.

There have never been doubts among the coaching staff. Alba's been a regular under every coach and Ronald Koeman has not been an exception. He also has the support of Lionel Messi, who links well with him on the pitch and the two are friends off the pitch.

Barça are set to sell Junior Firpo to Leeds United and are working on signing another left-back. Junior never provided stiff competition for Alba, failing like Miranda, Cucurella and Lucas Digne before him.

The Catalan club have not yet met with Alba's camp to deal with a possible salary cut. There has been a conversation to try and fix a date for talks, though. The club could even offer to extend his deal until 2025 in exchange for a wage reduction.
