The defender is not in Xavi's plans and will be allowed to leave this summer

Operation Exit is underway at Barcelona. The club are working on finding new homes for players that don't feature in Xavi Hernandez's plans. While players like Braithwaite and Pjanic refuse to move for now, others accept that they will have to move on. this summer.

That's the case with Clement Lenglet. The French defender is not wanted by Xavi and his future could lie in the Premier League. Per TV3, Barça and Tottenham are negotiating a loan deal.

Lenglet has a contract with Barça until 2026 and SPORT have confirmed that talks are underway for a one-year loan, although the English club would have liked a two-year loan initially.

However, a new rule comes into play on July 1 that impedes loans being for more than a season. Barça are looking into the ruling to see if a clause could be included for a second year to kick in. The English side would pay Lenglet's salary.

Lenglet moved to Barça from Sevilla in 2018 for €36 million. His performances have regressed during his time at the club after a bright start. This season he played 1,235 minutes across 27 games.
