Wednesday's draw against Inter has left Barça on the brink of elimination
Barcelona no longer depend on themselves to make the last 16 of the Champions League. In fact, they now need a miracle after drawing 3-3 with Inter Milan at Camp Nou on Wednesday.
If Inter win one of their final two games (against Viktoria Plzen and Bayern Munich), Barça will be eliminated from the competition in the group stage for the second season running.
Wednesday's game against the Italians was a "final," as repeated by Xavi and while Barça's fans responded at Camp Nou, the players did not get the result on the pitch.
Ousmane Dembele gave Barça a 41st-minute lead but defensive mistakes saw Inter take the lead thanks to goals from Nicolo Barella and Lautaro Martinez.
Robert Lewandowski equalised in the 82nd minute but Robin Gosens goal looked to be sending Inter through until Lewandowski's second at least delayed the inevitable.
Barça are three points behind Inter but the Serie A side have the superior head-to-head record if they finish level on points. Therefore, a win against Plzen will send them through.
Barça need to beat Bayern and Plzen and hope Inter drop points in both of their final two games.
