Lacazette is out of contract this summer and is a low cost alternative to other options

Barcelona want to strengthen in attack in the summer and another signing that could arrive for free is the Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette.

The Frenchman, in the event of a move to Camp Nou, would be reunited with his former Arsenal teammate in Catalonia, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Per British reports citing L'Equipe, Arsenal are weighing up whether to offer Lacazette a new contract. So far, it's been impossible to strike an agreement and the former Lyon striker's likely to leave for free.

Lacazette has scored six goals in 29 games this season, setting up eight more. His figures are short of what is expected from him from his coach, Mikel Arteta.

Meanwhile, the financial differences between the two parties in negotiations could spell the end of his time at the Emirates Stadium.

Lacazette could also return to Lyon, but Barça are also monitoring the situation as a low-cost alternative in the event they can't sign one of their preferred options this summer.

Barça want to strengthen in attack and have Haaland, Lewandowski and Salah as their priority, but all three would command a big investment.
