Barça midfielder Riqui Puig's future remains completely open

Riqui Puig's next destination is completely open. He will not remain at Barcelona after Xavi Hernandez advised him to look for football elsewhere to play regularly and continue his development.

However, where he will move remains unclear. The midfielder from Matadepera is not closing any doors in that sense. He is waiting to see what plans Barça, where he still has one year on his contract, have for him.

If he goes out on loan, he would have to extend his deal or Barça would risk losing him for free next summer. If he leaves permanently, Barça would demand a fee this summer.

Those are issues for Barça to decide on. Once the club have made a decision, Puig will be closer to knowing his next destination.
