Pjanic will move in the other direction and a deal is now very close

The Arthur-Pjanic swap deal is advancing, although there's still nothing closed. The Italian club have made a final attempt to reach an agreement with Arthur and hope to convince him to sign this week on a five-year deal. The deal between the club is done save the minor details. Arthur will go for 80 million euros and Pjanic will join for 70, so Juve will pay 10 more. The accountable benefit for Barça would be more than 65 million.

Juve have continued to work hard on the deal. So far, Arthur has always made it clear his intention is to remain at Barça. He's the only player Juve were ready to negotiate a swap deal for because he's valued by coach Maurizio Sarri.

Both clubs have agreed the deal financially. Barça have followed Pjanic for months and Setien feels he could be an important player to give dynamism to the new project. He's a technical midfielder who likes to play touch football. He stands out for his passing and his organisation skills. In addition, it's a deal that helps the club financially, as they need to bring in cash before June 30 to balance the books.

Juve sporting director Fabio Paraticci confirmed the negotiations but they still need to agree a contract with Arthur. The Brazilian could quadruple his wages in Italy but the deal is not signed. Paraticci has given Pjanic the green light to negotiate with Barça and the Bosnian has agreed a four-year deal.

Pjanic also had offers from PSG and Chelsea but always prioritised Barça and refused to negotiate with other clubs.
