Surprisingly the next team on the list is Valencia, ahead of both Atletico and Real Madrid

Barça finished the 2018/19 season with the highest UEFA coefficient in LaLiga, just ahead of Valencia in second.

Despite finishing the LaLiga season in fourth place, Valencia ended up with a higher coefficient ranking for the season than Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

This is because Marcelino's side went much further in Europe than either of the two Madrid sides as they were knocked out at the Europa League semi-final stage by Arsenal.

Barcelona added 30,000 points to their ranking, Valencia earned 23,000, with Real Madrid getting 20,000 and Atletico 19,000.

Across Europe, only seven clubs earned more points than Valencia for the 2018/19 campaign. Barça, Chelsea (30,000), Liverpool (29,000), Ajax (27,000), Arsenal (26,000), Tottenham Hotspur (26,000) and Manchester City (25,000).

Valencia finished with more points than other European giants in next season's Champions League including Juventus (21,000), Bayern Munich (20,000), Paris Saint Germain (19,000) and Borussia Dortmund (18,000).

However, Valencia's impressive campaign isn't enough to see them gain any places in UEFA's overall rankings and they remain 39th.

UEFA coefficients are based on the performances of the previous five seasons. They are likely to be in Pot 3 for next year's competition.
