The Portuguese full back is of interest to the Catalan giants

Manchester City are willing to see Portuguese player Joao Cancelo go to FC Barcelona. This has been conveyed by the City club to the Catalan club's management. Bayern Munich now have the player on loan but, a priori, do not intend to continue with this link so Cancelo would be back in Manchester. The loan ends and he would be back.

Manchester City do not want him in the squad. He is considered an arrogant and argumentative player so Guardiola does not want to have him in his ranks anymore. He gave the OK in winter for him to go to Germany after a last clash with him in a match against Arsenal. Pep said enough was enough and a week later he was in Germany.

Cancelo got off to a good start but also had a run-in with Nagelsman and spent several games playing very little. Now, under new coach Thomas Tuchel, Cancelo is back and playing regularly, so it seems that his situation has stabilised.

If Bayern continue with their idea of sending him back to England, the door to Barcelona would be open after Koundé's stance of wanting to leave the club. Barça are looking for options and have Cancelo, Foyth and Pavard on the table. The cheapest one might seem to be Cancelo because the club is considering him on loan but City have already said that they will open the door for him but on a transfer.

City's asking price is 40 million euros, a figure lower than the one they paid when they signed him from Juventus. Then City paid 65 million euros. Now, he is already somewhat amortised so his price would be lower.
