Barca keeping tabs on Real Sociedad goalkeeper Alex Remiro
The stopper could join next summer when he'll only have a year left on his deal
Barcelona are working for now and for the future. They are looking at their goalkeeping position, with Neto poised to leave. The idea is to count on Inaki Pena as Ter Stegen’s back-up. For the future, they are also interested in Real Sociedad’s goalkeeper Alex Remiro. His contract expires in 2023. There’s no rush but if they make a deal he could come next summer.
Remiro arrived at Real Sociedad from Athletic for free in what was a controversial switch. They have tried to tie him down but so far he has not accepted any offers. Next summer he will have a year left on his deal.
At Barca like they like his youth and agility between the sticks, although it’s clear Ter Stegen is still the long term plan.
He won’t be able to start the season in goal because of his knee operation at the end of last season.
