Barça have ruled out a move for Sassuolo striker Domenico Berardi

The forward has scored nine goals in Serie A this season but won't be heading to the Camp Nou

FC Barcelona won't be signing Domenico Berardi this month. The Sassuolo striker, who has previously played for Juventus, had been mentioned as a possible option to replace the injured Luis Suarez at the Camp Nou. However, the club has now ruled out a move for Berardi as they want someone who can fit in immediately without having to adapt to the league and system.

The 25-year-old Berardi has scored 9 goals in 17 Serie A matches this season and is a similar style of player to Rodrigo Moreno.

Yet Barça are keen to avoid the mistake of signing a player like Kevin Prince-Boateng. In fact, they would prefer to sign no one at all than a player who isn't of the required standard. Should this happen, they would turn to La Masia or solve the issues with the current first-team squad.

At the moment, Quique Setien has chosen Rey Manaj. The forward, who came from Albacete and made his debut with the youth side last Saturday, has already been involved in training with the first team. Following the departures of Alejandro Marqués and Abel Ruiz, Manaj is Barça B's only natural striker.
