The sports department and technical team have been searching the market, but La Liga's rules are constricting them.
The two clearest options were Meunier from Dortmund and Pavard from Bayern.
They are on the market, have top level experience, and could be brought in.
But Barca's list is long and other names included Villarreal's Foyth, now a World Cup winner. And another name that had not appeared but is of interest is Napoli's Di Lorenzo.
The Italian international has it all, he attacks and defends well, has character, technique, experience, and would fit perfectly into Barca's game.
The sports department like him a lot and have asked his price. For now it's too high, but we will see what is possible in the summer. A name to remember.
