The German international spoke to the media after the 3-0 defeat to Juventus

Marc-Andre ter Stegen tried to play down Barcelona's 3-0 defeat to Juventus on Tuesday but conceded the side are making too many mistakes.

The loss cost Barça top place in the group, with Juve progressing to the last 16 as group winners and Ronald Koeman's men as runners-up.

Ter Stegen said "we made mistakes that cannot happen" but bemoaned bad luck to explain the poor run of results the Blaugrana have had this season.

"We're in a phase where if we slip up, we concede a goal," he added. "We haven't managed to have the rub of the green in that sense.

"We have to get out of this dynamic and work hard, which we are doing, to come out of this situation. We have to start games stronger."

Ter Stegen added: "We wanted to get through as group winners but we can't say that we've done badly until now in the Champions League. We have played well and won some difficult games."

The stopper wants to turn the page and focus on La Liga now, with Levante up at Camp Nou on Sunday.

"We have to concentrate on the league and try to get back as many points as possible and see how we go," Ter Stegen finished.

"We are not where we want to be in the table but we have games in hand and we can make up some points. That's the objective, pick up points at home and not drop any more points."
