The 17-year-old capped his Champions League debut with a goal on Tuesday

Pedri made a dream debut in the Champions League on Tuesday as he scored the fifth goal in Barcelona's 5-1 win against Ferencvaros.

The 17-year-old came on for the final half an hour and scored in the 82nd minute to cap a memorable first appearance in Europe's premier club competition.

"It was thanks to my teammates," he said modestly. "I am really happy to make my debut in the Champions League and to be able to score a goal."

On his bow, he added: "When I go to bed later I will be thinking about how I have fulfilled the dream of all young kids.

"It's not easy to play for a team like Barcelona but when I get on the pitch, I evade reality and think that I am playing as I do at home with my brother.

"I hope I get some minutes in the Clasico (against Real Madrid) on Saturday. It's a really important game for the team."

The versatile attacker also spoke about the competition in attack at the club, with five different forwards scoring in the victory over the Hungarian champions.

"For everyone to be fired up and make it difficult for the coach to pick is the best thing that can happen," Pedri added in an interview with Movistar.
