The goalkeeper wants to get to the summer before fixing the problem once and for all

FC Barcelona goalkeeper Marc ter Stegen will be forced to undergo surgery at the end of the season if his knee problem doesn't heal in the coming months.

The German's intention is to wait until after Euro 2020 to have an operation which would hopefully see him make a 100 percent recovery.

Ter Stegen has been undergoing treatment during the winter break and is likely to miss the derby against Espanyol this weekend, with Neto set to fill in.

Summer signing Neto could also continue between the sticks for the Spanish Super Cup next week, but no decision has yet been made.

Ter Stegen's been seeking conservative treatment for a while but things have not improved. In the case that he's unable to continue before the end of the season, he could even opt to undergo surgery earlier.
