'Goal.com' say the Brazilian is the man they want as their new No.9

According to 'Goal.com', FC Barcelona are preparing for life after Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan striker will turn 32 in January and has not started the season in the best form. If there's something that characterises Suarez, it's his nose for goal. With Barça, he's proven himself to be the 'killer' that all teams need, but it's clear it's not easy to maintain that level year after year.

Now it's emerged that the Catalan club are thinking of names to replace him in the future. Liverpool's Roberto Firmino is a name on the shortlist. 'Goal.com' affirm that Barça are following the Brazilian international closely with the idea of a move next summer.

According to the reports, the ex-Hoffenheim forward would arrive as Luis Suarez's long-term replacement, for when El Pistolero needs a substitute. The big question is how much the Liverpool star would cost Barça. 'Goal.com' say it would not be for any less than Philippe Coutinho, which is to say around 140 million euros.

Despite it only being a rumour for now, the truth is that the idea of Firmino as Suarez's heir isn't a bad one. The Brazilian, 27, is in excellent form and last season was his best-ever: scoring 26 goals and setting up 15 more as part of a front three with Salah and Mane.
