Barcelona star Lionel Messi and his strike partner Luis Suarez lead the way in the race for the European Golden Shoe 2018-19. 

With the first half of the season now complete in Spain, Messi tops the league's scoring chart with 17 goals, while teammate Suarez has chipped in with 14. 

The duo, therefore, has 31 goals between them, which is more than every other team in La Liga, with the exception of Sevilla and Celta Vigo, who have also scored 31. 

Kylian Mbappe, Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Kane, Aubameyang and Mo Salah are all tied with Suarez on 14 goals.
