The club will not raise their offer to De Ligt, who must decide if he wants to join

Barcelona are playing hardball over Matthijs de Ligt. The Blaugrana have told the player’s people that they are sticking to the offer they made a few weeks ago and they will not increase it, despite the pressure they have received to do so.

Mina Raiola, the player’s agent, believes De Ligt’s value has increased over the last few weeks and is looking for a better contract, but Barca want to seal the deal with the same parameters they set for the Frenkie De Jong deal.

De Ligt is waiting for a new Barca offer to go with the other multi-million offers he has on the table, but that will not arrive and he has to decide his future with the cards he currently holds.

SPORT reported 10 days ago that De Ligt’s deal was getting complicated.

After meeting various times with De Ligt’s people and the player himself, the club lost optimism, with the economic terms higher than had previously been spoken about.

Barca didn’t get De Ligt to sign a pre-agreement in April and now with new offers from Bayern, Juventus and PSG, De Ligt’s people.

De Ligt has always prioritised Barca and didn’t sign anything with anyone else, hoping the Catalans would make him a new offer.

They have not and now the Dutchman must decide. Follow De Jong and prioritise the sporting side, or opt for a multi-million deal. Barca expect the final decision within 10 days.
