According to 'Catalunya Ràdio', the Uruguayan centre-back wants to push hard to play a part in the World Cup.

Tot Costa of Catalunya Ràdio claims that the Uruguayan centre-back will continue his training with his national team in Qatar, to recover in time for the World Cup.

The defender underwent surgery and initial reports suggested that he would miss the World Cup. However, he wants to accelerate his recovery to feature in the World Cup.

Uruguay is willing to wait for him until the end and the player wants to push hard to be able to be there. To do so, he will continue his recovery in Qatar, something that FC Barcelona are naturally not happy about. According to the club sources, the Catalans believe that the best thing for the player is to stay in Barcelona to recover from his injury.

The centre-back, despite his operation, was included in Uruguay's list for the World Cup and we will see if he can make it. If he were to play, according to 'Tot Costa', it would be in pain and with the risk of a major relapse.
