Araujo has started the preseason at Barça, apperaing with all the enthusiasm of an eager child

Ronald Araujo looks like a kid with new sneakers. The Uruguayan was the first to speak to the media from Barça's U.S. tour after the first training session at Inter's sports complex in Miami. The centre-back renewed a few weeks ago, was "very happy to start a new preseason" and, above all, "happy for the people who are arriving, they are important for the team".

In that context, he did not hesitate to say, "I am very happy for the quality that Lewandowski has, it is a joy, it is tremendous," about the Polish striker signing. He also spoke on the arrival of the others, saying "good players like Raphinha, Christensen, Kessié.... we need to have competition. It's always good in soccer because it makes you get the most out of yourself".

Araujo recognizes that he wants "the best for Barça and that the best players are here". That's why he doesn't mind seeing how Christensen has signed and how Koundé could follow. "Everyone knows what I can contribute, but I'm happy that people are coming to help, that's the most important thing, to have a competitive team. The headache will be for the coach to choose. Koundé is a great player, I want the best players to be here. We are Barça and it is important that we sign the best."

The Uruguayan also highlighted the leadership of Xavi, and the impact it will have. "We are working well, we have been growing since the arrival of Xavi. The previous two years we had lost our style and our way of working a little, now we are recovering. Since Xavi's arrival, we have been on the rise. It's going to be a good season.", he concluded.
