Barça defender Oscar Mingueza, offered to Getafe

The centre-back has a year left on his deal and Xavi said he should leave

Oscar Mingueza is one of the players Xavi has said he does not count on next season and thinks he should find a new club this summer. The defender has understood the message and his agent has started looking for a destination for him.

In this sense Diario AS have explained that Mingueza has been offered to Getafe, and Quique Sanchez Flores’s side is evaluating his possible incorporation.

Getafe will lose one of their starting centre-backs in Jorge Cuenca, whom Villarreal are taking back after his loan. Cabaco seems set to leave and Djene’s future is not known.

Quique considers Mingueza a good incorporation for the position and likes his ability to play at right back too.

If Getafe decide to sign Mingueza they will have to negotiate with Barca. They would like a loan while Barcelona prefer a transfer, among other things because the Catalan’s contract ends in June 2023.

Mingueza should not have problems finding a new club salary wise as his current deal is not too high. Barcelona want 3-5 million euros for the defender and know Getafe just sold Mathias Olivera to Napoli for 15m euros.
