Barça defender Oscar Mingueza close to sealing move to Celta Vigo

The Spanish right back will move for a low fee but with a percentage of a future sale agreed

Xavi left five players off the US tour. They were told to look for new clubs. One of them, Oscar Mingueza, is close to a move to Celta Vigo. He will sign a five year deal there.

Barcelona and the Vigo club have reached a deal. It will be around 2 million euros plus a certain percentage of a future sale.

Mingueza gave the nod to leave to Celta, a club with ambitions in Spain and who showed a big interest in his arrival. He will likely play a lot there and progress as a player, which is his priority.

Other sides like Valladolid, Getafe and Girona had showed interest in him but Celta is the club who came in strongest and that swayed his choice. There are still some parts of the contract to resolve but barring a radical twist, the player will move to Galicia.

It leaves four more cases to resolve - Umtiti, Riqui Puig, Neto and Martin Braithwaite. The goalkeeper is likely to be the next to leave.
