The centre-back is desperate to help his team as soon as possible

Jules Koundé does not want to miss his first Clasico. The French center-back has October 16 marked in red on the calendar, the day that sees Barcelona head to the Santiago Bernabéu to face Real Madrid.

Despite getting injured while on international duty with France, he is desperate to return as soon as possible to help the team this month.

And the reality is that his recovery is on the right track. Surprisingly, on Thursday the player was already part of the preparatory session despite being injured, as could be seen in a video issued by the club.

It will be interesting to see if he trains again on Friday. It is not known exactly what part of the work he did with the group but it is great news that he was already on the pitch after he was injured in the match against Austria on Sept. 22.

Medical tests confirmed that he has an injury to the femoral biceps of the left thigh and despite the fact that the club did not give an estimated time off, due to the type of injury it was fixed at about three or four weeks.

Taking risks, he could reach the Clasico with an acceptable risk of a possible relapse but it will be necessary to see in the next few days how his recovery process continues.

In an ideal scenario, the best thing would be for Kounde to have a few minutes in the match prior to the Clasico, but bearing in mind that the risk of relapse would be greater and that the rival before playing against Madrid is Inter Milan in the Champions League, it is very unlikely that he can have them.

In any case, the chances that Xavi can count on his key defender in one of the big games next month have increased and this is great news for Barça.
