The centre-back spent the night being checked after clashing heads with Gavi

Barcelona have confirmed that Ronald Araujo has been released from hospital after spending the night under observation following a concussion.

Araujo left Camp Nou in an ambulance on Tuesday after clashing heads with teammate Gavi in the 65th minute of the 3-1 win over Celta Vigo.

Barça later confirmed he had suffered a concussion but was conscious, following the initial alarm after he collapsed on the pitch, and offered another more encouraging update on Wednesday.

"Tests carried out on the first team player Ronald Araujo have been satisfactory and he has been released from the hospital," Barça aid. "His recovery will dictate his return."  

The statement added: "The Barça centre back left the field in the 67th minute of the win over Celta after a clash of heads with teammate Gavi. The Frenchman Clément Lenglet replaced Araujo for Barça in the second half."
