Despite strong interest from the Serie A leaders, Vidal is expected to stay at the Camp Nou until the end of the season

Despite finding himself largely as an impact substitute, Arturo Vidal won't be leaving FC Barcelona this month. At least that's what the club and Ernesto Valverde want to happen.

The coach has already spoken to the Chilean midfielder and let him know that he'll continue to get playing time and to ignore offers and interest from elsewhere. The plan is to revisit his situation next summer when Vidal will be entering the final 12 months of his deal.

Inter are the team pushing hardest to land Vidal this month as they look to maintain their Serie A title challenge. Both Barça and Vidal know it isn't just interest from Antonio Conte's side as there's an official offer on the table, although the club have declared the midfielder 'untouchable' and see him as a crucial member of the squad.

THINGS COULD CHANGE IN THE SUMMER

Barça are confident that Vidal will accept his role in the team until the summer. Although he isn't a clear starter, and his strong personality caused issues at the start of the season, there are various reasons to keep Vidal with the team. He's got an excellent relationship with his teammates and, in particular, the senior and high ranking members of the dressing room. Vidal is also well liked by supporters who appreciate the effort he puts in every match.

With Carles Aleña now out on loan at Real Betis, it should see Vidal get more regular playing time.

The only way for this to change is if Barça receive an offer too good to turn down. Or, naturally, that Vidal expresses his desire to leave. If this were to happen it would leave the club very light in midfield with important matches coming up.

Conte IS PUSHING HARD TO LAND VIDAL

Inter coach, Antonio Conte, has a fantastic personal relationship with Vidal and the pair speak on almost a daily basis to see how things are with the midfielder at Barcelona.

Despite this, Barça don't want to lose Vidal and see him as a crucial member of the squad going into the business end of the season.

Inter are already out of the Champions League and are looking to make a big signing as their focus switches entirely to the Serie A.
