Across a 12-match span, the last time Barça managed to win consecutive games came all the way back in May

The last time FC Barcelona won back-to-back matches came on the 1st May. They beat Liverpool 3-0 at the Camp Nou in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final. Everybody knows what then happened at Anfield.

Barça went into that first leg after beating Levante in gameweek 35 (1-0).

Following those two victories, Barça would go on to lose their next two matches. The first came against Celta (2-0) and the second against Liverpool (4-0). The wounds are still fresh in the minds of Barça supporters.

Since that initial victory over Liverpool, Barça have been unable to win consecutive matches in their 12 matches. That's almost six months, although two of those were during the summer, but it'll still surprise many to see the record over those games is four victories, three draws and five defeats.

Barça have a chance to break that streak when they face Getafe after beating Villarreal midweek.

The LaLiga season hasn't begun as expected for Valverde and company after only winning three of their opening seven fixtures. Getafe won't make it easy for the struggling Catalans but another victory for Barça could see them finally kickstart their season.
