The defender's back in training but not yet ready to return to action

Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman spoke to the press on Sunday ahead of Monday's league game against Real Valladolid (21h CET) at Camp Nou.

By the time Barça play, they will already know how their title rivals got on this weekend. Real Madrid beat Eibar 2-1 on Saturday, while leaders Atletico Madrid play away at Sevilla on Sunday.

Koeman was asked if defenders Gerard Pique and Sergi Roberto could be fit again for the Valladolid game.

"They're training with the team," he said. "They're decisions that we will make on Monday morning after the final session. We will not take any risks, not just for the Clasico, but for any game."

After Valladolid, Barça's next game in the league is against Real Madrid, at the Alfredo Di Stefano on Saturday.

Both Pique and Sergi Roberto trained on Sunday. Pique is unlikely to feature on Monday but Sergi Roberto could return to the squad.

"They're important players but the decision will be made in the morning," Koeman added.
