The Dutch coach feels too much is being demanded from his squad this season

Ronald Koeman was once again critical of the schedule Barcelona are having to adhere to this season, complaining it's putting his players in danger.

In Friday's press conference to preview the Valencia game at Camp Nou, Koeman reaffirmed what he had said a few weeks ago.

"I still think the same," the Dutch coach said. "The calendar is crazy. If we win the Supercopa semi there's another game for us as well.

"And many of the away games are late kick offs, at least the January game against Granada will be a little earlier... but we are killing the players.

"We arrive back home really late after away games and then two days later there's another trip and another game. We have to resolve this issue because the schedule is too tight."

Barça have a free week for the first time in months after Tuesday's game against Real Valladolid, with Christmas allowing them seven days until they face Eibar the following Tuesday.

Before then, Koeman's side host Valencia on Saturday following back-to-back wins against Real Sociedad and Levante.
