The activation of the first lever, worth 267m euros, has proved to be key

FC Barcelona will present to their Socio Members a balance sheet for the 2021/22 season with 98 million euros in profits, after taxes.

Economic vice-president Eduard Romeu announced this in the presentation to the media regarding the accounts that president Joan Laporta and his board will defend coming Sunday, October 9.

Barça had projected revenue of 765m euros and expenditure of 784m euros.

Actual revenues in the 2021/22 financial year amounted to 750m euros and actual expenditure was 856m euros.

The pulling of the first lever handed the U.S. investment firm Sixth Street Partners 10% of Barca's television rights for the next 25 years. This resulted in a huge gain of 267m euros, which, after deducting financial and tax expenses, yielded a net profit of 98m euros.

In the case of the wage bill, Barça planned to cut it to 470m euros, but in the end, the bill remained at 518m euros. Some of the planned departures were not carried out.

The reduction was still a significant sum of 100m euros, as the wage bill for the 2020/21 season was 617m euros.
