The coach was speaking after tying up second place on Sunday

Barcelona tied up second place in LaLiga and a place in next season's Supercopa with a goalless draw at Getafe on Sunday.

It was the club's objective, after they qualified for the Champions League, following a tough start to the campaign.

"We have saved a season that could have been worse," coach Xavi said. "We have achieved the objectives, in November we would have signed to end (the season) this way."

The Barcelona boss now wants to think about the future and has things very clear, although it depends on the club's financial situation.

"We stopped the rot and now we have to work, assess things and we want to strengthen but it will all depend on the financial situation," Xavi added.

On the Getafe draw, he said: "We didn't attack well and in the second half they did not press so much. But we tried to win the game."
