Barça boss Koeman sends training warning to Riqui Puig
"Maybe in training he doesn't do enough to make the coach change his way of thinking"
Asked about the differences in attitude between Ronald Araujo and Riqui Puig, Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman sent a warning to the Catalan midfielder.
Puig, 21, has hardly featured this season despite the clamour for him to be given a more prominent role by the Dutch coach.
Asked why Araujo is getting chances and Puig isn't, Koeman said: "We're talking about two different players. Maybe Riqui needs to be more physical, but I like players that try to improve every day and take their chances to improve with both hands.
"In that position (midfield) there is a lot of competition, but maybe in training he doesn't do enough to make the coach change his way of thinking. These days it's not just about quality, you need many other things, too."
Koeman told Puig at the start of the season he didn't count on him but the youngster pushed back against the option of going out on loan.
