Ronald Koeman spoke in a press conference on Friday ahead of Barcelona's game against Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano this weekend.
Koeman defended Lionel Messi's reaction to being greeted by the press at the airport on Wednesday following his return from international duty.
Messi had been asked about comments made by Griezmann's former agent, Eric Olhats, who accused him of running a regime of terror at Camp Nou.
"I can understand why Leo would be angry," Koeman said. "After such a long flight, to ask him things about Antoine when he lands shows a lack of respect.
"I have to defend Leo. If that happened to me after a 15-hour journey and then I go outside and there are press asking those types of questions, I would be dangerous and hating them as well.
"It's an attempt from [the press] to create controversy where there is none. I have not seen any problems between Leo and Antoine. In addition, the comments are from someone who's not been [Griezmann's agent] for years. It's complete nonsense."
