Barcelona's General Assembly resumed on Saturday and the first vote was on the funding for the Espai Barça project, which includes the redevelopment of Camp Nou.

Barça are seeking €1.5 billion in financing to move ahead with the project, with the club explaining the work needs to be carried out to update an ageing stadium and to increase revenue in the long-term.

After hearing president Joan Laporta's explanation, and following a lengthy question and answer session, the delegate members gave the green light to the project,

Of those present at the assembly, 405 voted in favour, 21 voted against and just six abstained from voting.

However, the proposal must now be ratified in a referendum in which all club members (socios) will be allowed to vote in.
