Éric Abidal will represent Barça at the Johan Cruyff Arena tonight, plus there's a chance he could meet up with Marc Overmars

Mathijs De Ligt is a certain starter for Holland, despite being just 19, as Ronald Koeman is investing in youth to wake this giant national team from its recent slumber. Ajax's captain will play alongside Liverpool's Van Dijk forming a world class partnership. Unless something changes at the last minute, the pair are expected to get the nod for the match against Germany tonight. And in that match Barça will have a representative in the stands: none other than Eric Abidal. The French director of football is hoping to get a moment to speak with Marc Overmars about a deal for the in-demand De Ligt.

Even if official talks don't take place, it's a chance for Abidal to reinforce his desire to reunite De Ligt and De Jong at the Camp Nou next summer. Speaking of which, tonight's match allows Abidal to further keep tabs on the progress of the Dutch midfielder who has already penned his contract to join FC Barcelona at the end of the current season.

JUVENTUS WILL BE THERE TOO

Alongside Abidal at the Johan Cruyff will be a representative from Juventus. In the battle for De Ligt's signature, Juve don't want to hand any advantage to Barça. For Overmars, a bidding war would be ideal as it'd drive up the potential price for the young centre half. Fabio Paratici will be Juventus' man in Amsterdam and it remains to be seen if Real Madrid send someone at the last minute too, as they look for someone capable of replacing Raphael Varane.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen will be in the Germany squad for tonight's match but remarkably remains second choice to Manuel Neuer.
