Barça are confident of Gundogan signing despite Man City's new offer

The English club have made another play to hold on to the German midfielder

Barcelona insist Ilkay Gündogan is the player of choice to arrive at zero cost in midfield. The club has the player's verbal OK for the next three seasons, but nobody will communicate anything until the German international finishes the season with Manchester City, something that could be extended until June if the English team qualifies for the Champions League final.

It is one thing to have a verbal pact with Gündogan, who knows that he will have minutes at Camp Nou, and another to have everything signed, though, something that for now has not been done. Gundogan started demanding a lot of money and has been adjusting his salary to be able to come, but City have returned to the scene when they thought he was lost.

The new offer of renewal from the English team, of longer duration than the first proposal, is true, but the confidence at Barça is absolute. The Blaugrana are aware of the enormous desire that Gündogan and his family have to live in Spain after many years in Manchester. The club and the city have done a lot to be able to win a bid that will end with the player at Camp Nou.
