The FC Barcelona board are angry with Ivan Rakitic after a photo emerged of him on social media celebrating the Sevilla Fair hours after Barça's shock defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League semi-final. The midfielder posed alongside Jose Maria Del Nido, son of the former Sevilla CF president.
Rakitic, who has family in Sevilla as he attended the event, took advantage of the two day break handed to the squad after the defeat to Liverpool. However the decision of his friend to upload a photo of his visit to social media has caused an angry reaction from fans who are still reeling from the defeat.
The reaction to Rakitic being in Sevilla has been so great that the board took notice of it. They too are upset at the timing of posting a photo of the player seemingly happy after his team suffered an embarrassing defeat. His friend deleted the photo two years later but the damage had already been done.
