Usually Bartra, Pique, Busquets and Alba would feature. Three years later it happened again. Luis Enrique, on October 11, 2018, picked a side against Wales with no Barcelona players. This time, not so long has passed.
Robert Moreno picked no Barca players in the side to face the Faroe Islands on Sunday, 11 months later. The explanation lies in the absence of cantera players that Barcelona have brought through.
Sergi Roberto was the most recent Barca player to debut for Spain, in March 2016, against Romania in Cluj. Before him was Deulofeu and Denis, while on loan at Milan and Villarreal, and Munir, who appeared in 2013 and never came back.
