The defender is set to make his loan move to Nice permanent in the coming days

Barcelona and Nice are closing a deal for Jean-Clair Todibo to make his move to the French club permanent, according to the journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The agreement, as stated by Barça in January when Todibo returned to France on loan, will be worth an initial €8.5 million, with another €7m due in potential add-ons.

If finally confirmed, it will be a successful piece of business for Barça, who signed Todibo from Toulouse for around €1m.

After failing to break into the first team at Camp Nou, he spent time on loan in Germany and Portugal with Schalke 04 and Benfica before joining Todibo last January.

Todibo has a contract until 2023 and will be the second player to leave Barça this summer after Juan Miranda, with Konrad de la Fuente also close to a move to French side Marseille.

Neto, Umtiti, Junior, Pjanic and Coutinho are some of the other players Barça are looking to move on in this transfer window.
