Barça and Betis close to an agreement over winger Cristian Tello
Talks advanced on Wednesday and a deal is thought to be close
Zenit were interested too, but Betis are now expected to sign Tello
Cristian Tello could finally sign for Real Betis. The winger's exit is more advanced than the club had predicted and the Verdiblanca are close to reaching an agreement for the player. Betis have gone on the offensive in the last few days after Zenit failed in their attempts to lure Tello to Russia this summer. And on Wednesday talks progressed between Barça and the Seville-based club.
Tello's preference is to move to Betis. The interest from Zenit did halt conversations with the Andalusians, but the negotiations with the Russian side broke up and Betis restored their interest.

New Betis coach Quique Setien considers Tello a player who could lead his new project at the Benito Villamarin. It would be a great signing for the club and he would be one of the biggest earners.
With the OK from the player, Betis are in talks with Barça. The Catalan club began by asking for 10 million euros, but it's more likely that the fee will be hald that amount. Barça will also save on the player's salary, which was due to increase in the final year of his contract at Camp Nou, which ends in 2018.
