Barça and Bayern in 'pole' position for Chelsea's Christensen
The Danish defender is out of contract in the summer at Stamford Bridge
Barcelona want to strengthen the defence next season. Despite having six centre-backs, many of them don't have a future at the club, so they're pursuing other options.
In this sense, they are paying particular attention to Chelsea. The English club have had a number of contract issues this season among their defenders. Thiago Silva has since renewed until 2023 but there are still three cases to be resolved: Andreas Christensen, Cesar Azpilicueta and Antonio Rudiger.

Along with Azpilicueta, Christensen is one of the defenders best placed to make the move to Barça this summer. As revealed by the journalist Fabrizio Romano, Barça are well positioned in the race to sign the Danish international on a free when his deal expires in London, along with Bayern Munich.
The Italian journalist adds that Christensen has decided he won't leave Chelsea for another Premier League club after nine years with the Blues, including a two-year loan spell with Bayer Leverkusen.
