The Catalan club are looking to strengthen their attack in January

Ferran Torres is Barcelona's top target to strengthen their attack but it will not be a straightforward option and they are also looking at other options.

With negotiations with Manchester City over Ferran just getting started, Barça took advantage of their recent trip to Manchester to also ask about Anthony Martial, who plays on the other side of town for United.

Per ARA, Barça director of football Mateu Alemany wanted to learn first hand what the France striker's situation is at Old Trafford following the signings of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho.

Martial has played just 357 minutes this season, although it's also true injuries have prevented him playing too many more.

Signed from Monaco in 2015 for almost 60 million euros, Martial has combined good streaks with inconsistent performances during his time in Manchester.

At 25, and with a contract until 2024, Martial, who many saw as the new Thierry Henry, has long been followed by Barça, who could pursue a loan move in January.
