Barça, all or nothing in Munich in huge Champions League showdown

The Catalans are fighting for survival in Europe tonight at the Allianz Arena

The caprices of the calendar have left Barcelona fighting for Champions League survival against the most difficult opponent there is. They must win in Munich to guarantee progress, although there will be no fans at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern, European champions in 2020, have become a model to imitate for other big clubs in Europe, while Barcelona have gone the other way. The Catalans have lost Messi, Griezmann and Suarez, while Bayern still have Lewandowski, Muller and Sane.

Everything is going against Barcelona but they still hope this game can be a turning point in the season. These are moments that invite the epic, destroy the prognostics. It’s a challenge in capital letters. And Xavi has to be valiant in his set-up, a solid team with confidence in the creativity of the midfielders, in the accuracy of the forwards, and take advantage of Bayern’s absences.

One name stands out. Ousmane Dembele. He is set to start and in his boots lies a lot of Barcelona’s hope for progress. And Memphis, now would be a good time to get your first Champions League goal for the club.
