Talks continue between president Laporta and the player's agent

Barcelona are still looking for a star to join Xavi Hernandez's project and while talks to sign Salah or Haaland are on standby, contact with Lewandowski continues to advance.

As SPORT revealed recently, the player's agent, Pini Zahavi, has met on a couple of occasions with Barça president Joan Laporta. The two are close friends and they're working on an agreement.

According to different sources, they are talking about a three-year contract, which would keep him at Camp Nou until 2025.

Barça have the player's age in mind -- he will turn 34 in August -- but they have no doubts that he can continue to perform at a high level for at least two years.

Lewandowski's numbers are still spectacular and everything indicates he will once again be one of the favourites for the Ballon d'Or this year.

In private, as reported by SPORT, the striker has shown a willingness to move to Barça this summer. The project interests him and he believes they will be fighting for titles under Xavi once again.

His contract with Bayern expires in 2023, so any move is subject to an agreement between Barça and the German champions. Talks have not yet started between the two clubs.
