Aymeric Laporte pressures Man City to let him move to Barca
The defender wants to join the Catalan giants
It’s hard, but not impossible. Aymeric Laporte wants to swap Man City for Barcelona and is pressing the English club to let him go. The French centre-back, recently nationalised to Spain, knows his market value is too high for Barcelona to pay, so he has to make an effort to make a move happen.
Clubs may end up doing more swap deals this summer, with less money to go around because of the economic impact of the coronavirus crisis.
Relations between the Blaugrana and Man City are good, so even though it’s hard to reach deals, there is some hope. It will be a long summer and nothing can be ruled out for now.
This season Aymeric has not played as much as he would have liked. He’s featured in 2,249 minutes across all competitions, which isn’t too bad, but it’s been Ruben Dias and John Stones who have started the big games. At 27, he thinks it might be time to swap clubs.
