Aulas thinks Barca may sign Memphis Depay in January
The OL president spoke about the Dutchman and a potential Barcelona switch
Memphis Depay's move to Barcelona didn't happen in the end. The Olympique Lyon forward was wanted by Ronald Koeman and the player hoped to join.
Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas still believes he could move. "He will do everything possible to be in conditions to go there in January," said Aulas.
"The decision in the winter window will be Juninho's, (sporting director), in the same way he took all the decisions in the transfer window with Vincent Ponsot (director general). I haven't given up on the idea of extending his contract but as I've always said, I think that will be hard."
The president said Depay is not happy that Barcelona didn't come up with the goods.
"Koeman gave him hope and Memphis was ready to force it through, today he is disappointed, but not with Olympique Lyon but with Barcelona."
If the Catalans had got Ousmane Dembele off the wage bill they might have been able to make Depay happen.
