Aubameyang exclusive: It would be an honour to play with Haaland at Barça

The Barça striker spoke about the possibility of increased competition at Camp Nou next season

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang joined Barcelona on the last day of the transfer window from Arsenal. He became the fourth signing of a busy month after Dani Alves, Ferran Torres and Adama Traore.

However, Barça still have another name marked in red when it comes to strengthening their attack in the summer: Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland.

Aubameyang, in an interview with SPORT, has blessed the hypothetical arrival of Haaland, even though the two play in the same position.

"I am always prepared for healthy competition with teammates, so it would be an honour to play with him if he ends up coming to Barça," Aubameyang said.

Asked about Haaland's strengths, laughing, the Barça striker added: "I am not a coach, but I think he's a crack. He scores a lot of goals, has a good physique, is really quick. It's strange because he's really big, but he runs a lot. It's incredible. For his age, he's already one of the best in the world."

In that sense, Aubameyang, who scored a hat-trick against Valencia at the weekend, confirmed he watches all his ex-teams closely, Saint-Étienne, Arsenal and Borussia Dortmun.

"I have a lot of friends at my old clubs, so I don't forget about them," he said. "Whenever I can, I watch their games, for example Arsenal winning 2-1 at Brentford this Saturday."
