The Spanish club are interested in an Aston Villa defender which could help them pay

Atletico Madrid want to reinforce their right back position after Kieran Trippier left in January. They are interested in Aston Villa right back Matty Cash, who they already tried to go for a few months ago.

Cash is not an easy operation because the English side don’t want to sell him for less than 35m euros, per Fabrizio Romano.

If the Polish defender does go to Atletico, it could hand Villa the funds they need to seal the signing of Philippe Coutinho, who has a 40m euro buy clause in his loan deal from Barcelona.

The 24 year old Poland international has a Villa contract until 2025. He has scored three goals and got four assists this season and is an important player for Steven Gerrard.
