There's a long way to go this summer or, put another way, a lot more rumours to come. Many won't come to fruition and you can guarantee that there will be several involving Barcelona.
The latest to come out is that Barça goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen could be a target for Crystal Palace. According to Diario AS, the Premier League side want the Dutch goalkeeper to be their No.1 next season if Steve Mandanda moves to Marseille. Andoni Zubizarreta wants the Palace stopper and Frank de Boer is thinking of Cillessen as a replacement -- the two worked together at Ajax.
If the London club do end up making a move, we will have to see what Barça's stance is. In principle, Cillessen has a release clause of 60 million euros and a contract until 2021. It's clear Palace will not pay the clause, but the doubt is whether Barça would accept an inferior price or not.
Remember that next season, Jordi Masip will not be at the club and Adrian Ortola returns from his loan with Alaves to be Barça B's No.1 and the third choice for the first team. Without Cillessen, Barça would be left short.
Speaking before the Copa del Rey final, too, Cillessen said that he does not plan on leaving Barcelona and wants to make the most of his second season with the club having spent the last year adapting to his new life.
