The Chilean missed the previous European match against Napoli through suspension but returns against his former club

Since Arturo Vidal joins Barcelona in 2018, he's scored 11 goals in 95 official matches for the club. However, none of those 11 have come in the Champions League despite playing 17 matches in the competition. All of them have been in LaLiga.

The Chilean international also failed to score in Europe during his last season with Bayern Munich (2017/18) which means he's gone three seasons without a Champions League goal.

Vidal's last goal in Europe's elite competition was on the 12th April 2017 in the first leg against Real Madrid. Since that moment he's gone 26 matches without scoring.

On Friday, up against his former side Bayern, Vidal will have another opportunity to end his goalless run. Most expected line-ups have the Chilean starting alongside Sergio Busquets, Sergi Roberto and Frenkie de Jong. He missed the previous match against Napoli through suspension.

Across his career, Vidal has notched 14 goals in 71 Champions League matches. His highest total in a single season came with Juventus in 2013/14 when he scored five.

Until this current goalless streak, Vidal has scored at least once in every single season he competed in the competition.
