The Chilean scored the only goal of the game as Barcelona won 1-0

Arturo Vidal scored the only goal of the game as Barcelona beat Real Valladolid 1-0 on Saturday to keep their lingering title hopes alive.

Vidal admitted it "was a difficult game because Valladolid are a team that play well and the climate did not help, either."

The Chilean, who scored in the 15th minute, continued: "To be honest, they made things tough in the second half but the important thing is we leave with the win.

"In the second half, we struggled to find our rhythm, we have to be more focused on the pitch, but we have to improve."

Goal scorer

Vidal has scored regularly this season. That was his eighth in the league. "The important thing is that it served for three points and I hope to keep on scoring," he added.

Barça suffered late on, with Marc ter Stegen once again required to make big saves after the break. They held to move one point behind Real Madrid, who still have a game in hand.

"The title doesn't depend on us but we're going to give our all, try to win every game and wait and see," Vidal said. "If it doesn't happen, we will go into the Champions League in the best possible form."
